Veins
“There is much power in the combination of images and sound here and Dutta manages to evoke sentiment through this artful presentation. Particularly the use of sound in the film is of the highest level, even though some moments were a bit too loud. At the same time, however, the intensely experimental nature of the short and its duration (less than 10 minutes) deem it a spectacle very difficult to understand and subsequently, empathize with it, and in general, a piece of art that seems more suitable for a video installation/ art exhibition.” – Film Critic

The Twilight Zone
“However, with a lack of narrative to comment on, there are other elements of the production which can be addressed from a critical standpoint, notably in the sound design. Herein lies the real strength of the production, which makes the structure palatable regardless of audiences’ reactions to experimental narrative. The sound design is almost impeccable, making strong shifts between nature and mechanical noises, and a soundtrack that incorporates electronic dance, noise, and traditional music. Ultimately, what should have been a hellish cacophony of noises, blends together in a really masterful and engaging way.” – Asian Movie Pulse

Outside the Burning Ghats
““Outside the Burning Ghats” is not a film for everyone, and the fact remains that one has to read the intro to understand what it is about. However, the power underneath the images and the movement presented on screen are undeniable, and Dutta has managed to communicate the sense of death quite eloquently.” – Panos Kotzathanasis

We and Our Time
“While somewhat difficult to really classify as a ‘film’ in the traditional sense, “We an Our Time” paints a fascinating portrait of a filmmaker’s perspective on the world, and how it translates into his cinematic work. Additionally, the atmosphere created is one of real relaxation, allowing for the audience to explore the imagery and reflect the sentiments of the film in celebrating the small moments. A concept which is needed in these tumultuous times.” – Adam Symchuk
